Local Bird Market in Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh

Next to a road near the city of Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh, 346 km northwest of Tehran, there is a local market for selling birds. The birds sold in this market are legal species such as geese, Israeli geese, ducks, chickens and roosters, which locals buy for use in hatcheries or daily food. There are also a limited number of tourists who enjoy having bird chicks such as ducklings as pets. Yet the bird market is in a pleasant atmosphere where vitality and life are apparent, but from the point of view of bird lovers and advocates of bird and animal rights, markets like this local market for slavery and killing of creatures are considered alive, and seeing birds slaughtered is something inhuman that occurs in front of people, which children can witness, which animal rights activists should address and prevent.
